Safety

Last updated: May 17, 2026

Your safety comes before everything else on Manajodi. Verification reduces risk in community discovery, but no platform can replace your own judgment. This page explains the protections built into Manajodi and the steps you can take to stay safe.

1. Verification is your first layer of safety

Before profiles become visible in discovery, members pass the same checks you did:

  • Government ID— a driver's license, state ID, or passport checked for authenticity by our verification partner, Persona.
  • Live selfie— a liveness check confirming a real person is behind the profile and that the photos are genuinely them.
  • Verification and moderation review— profiles pass identity, authenticity, and safety checks before appearing in the community.

2. Protecting your privacy

Manajodi never shows other members your precise location, email address, or phone number. Share personal contact details, your home or workplace address, or financial information only when you are ready and confident. Keep early conversations inside Manajodi rather than moving quickly to other apps.

3. Recognizing red flags

Verified identity does not guarantee good intentions. Be cautious if someone:

  • asks for money, gift cards, or financial or banking information, in any amount or for any reason;
  • pushes to move off Manajodi immediately, or pressures you to act urgently;
  • avoids voice or video calls, or refuses to meet in a public place;
  • is inconsistent about basic details, or pressures you into personal decisions or commitments unusually fast.

Trust your instincts. If something feels wrong, slow down — and report it.

4. Meeting community members safely

When you decide to meet a community member for the first time:

  • Meet in a public, populated place, in daylight if possible.
  • Tell a friend or family member where you are going, who you are meeting, and when you expect to be back.
  • Arrange your own transport so you can leave whenever you want.
  • Stay sober enough to stay aware, and keep your phone charged.
  • If you ever feel unsafe, leave. You never owe anyone an explanation for protecting yourself.

5. Reporting and blocking

You can report or block any member directly from within the app, or email us at [email protected]. Reports go to our moderation team and are taken seriously; blocking immediately stops further contact. Reporting someone in good faith never counts against you. See our Community Guidelines for the behavior we expect of every member.

6. If you are in immediate danger

If you are in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first. In the United States, the following confidential resources are available 24/7:

  • Emergency services— call 911.
  • National Domestic Violence Hotline— call 1-800-799-7233, or text START to 88788.
  • National Sexual Assault Hotline (RAINN)— call 1-800-656-4673.

After you are safe, please also report the member to us so we can act to protect others.
